‘Tis the Season for Giving in the Starbucks Line

I had an amazing day yesterday. It started out as I made my usual Starbucks drive-thru stop, as I do most mornings on the way to my office. At the same time, I’m on my morning phone call with Allie, so not really paying attention to what’s going on around me until it was my turn to drive-up to the window. Like every other day, I hand my money to one of the smiling faces I have come to know. So far…what’s the big deal and why am I writing about this on my blog – right? Well, my friendly Barista couldn’t wait to tell me that the car in front of me had paid for my order. WHAAAAT? I know…crazy, but so surprised and gave me that good feeling inside. I think I smiled for most of the day yesterday knowing that the spirit of giving is still in the air.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep the spirit going, as I was the last car in line, however I launched another ‘stream of giving’ in the Starbucks drive-thru this morning. The only thing I missed was getting a glimpse of the person behind me to see what the reaction was when she was told someone in front of her had paid for her order, but I couldn’t see her from my angle. I’ll bet she was pretty happy, though.

Can you imagine that the longest ‘giving’ record at this store was 40 cars?

I love the gift of giving and I’m going to remember this story forever.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all!

Are You Wrapped?

We’re coming down the stretch with only 6 days until Christmas. If wrapping presents is still on your list, get organized and follow these easy steps to make this year’s wrapping a jiff.

- Organize your gifts by recipient. This also helps to get an overview of things and maybe where you might need another stocking stuffer or two.
– Create a gift wrap station. Whether this be in the guest room, craft room or on the floor in front of the fireplace in your family room, designate a space to keep your wrapping gear.
- Next, organize your gift wrap, ribbon, gift tags, scissors, tape and pen or marker so that everything is at your fingertips. This year, I’m using our wire ball bin to store wrapping paper rolls.
- If you haven’t been able to wrap as you go, don’t stress. Try recruiting your husband or children for a evening of gift wrapping while watching a favorite holiday movie.

Creating Keepsakes Blog had a few of my favorite craft organizing ideas this year.
- Our multi-tiered pants hanger is perfect for holding ribbon spools.

- Turn and 80-pocket jewelry organizer to a craft organizer. Store everything from buttons (by color, of course) and rhinestones to floral embellishments in one place. Crafting is definitely more fun when you are organized.

Ready, set, wrap!

Happy Organizing!
