{She} has all the essentials a career girl would need, a mommy would want, a hostess would desire or a bride-to-be would love. Read all about their life stories under the “Meet My Guests” tab of my blog. Between running a successful company and raising a family, they have developed a few tricks and have come up with some helpful pointers on how they do it all. So stay tuned for some fabulous {she} moments.

Add Some Fun “To-Dos”…

When we are not sprinting from the office to soccer practice and then to the grocery store, using the backseat of the car for storage with car hooks and seat organizers, we still need to find time for ourselves. So in addition to all the shopping lists and “notes-to-self” left on your desk, in your purse and on the dash of your car, make sure to have some fun “to-do” lists also! The last and most important “to-do” tip from Chris and Cynthia is to list things you really want to do, not just tasks you have to do. It’s your life after all, so take care to add a book, movie or play you’ve been meaning to catch. Plan a weekend trip or a personal day away from work. That way, your to-do list feels less “demanding boss” and more “personal assistant.”

The first task on my fun “to-do” list, is go see the new “Sex and the City” movie. The gals and I from Organize.com are putting on our favorite party dresses and the most extravagant shoes we own (but, of course!). We will begin the fun with cocktails and then spend the rest of the evening with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and of course Samantha. There will be pictures galore and plenty to share about Girls Night Out, so stay tuned.

NEAT Things I Love Today:

Gal Pal Garment Deodorant Remover!!! They saved my life and helped me out of a last minute pinch as I was getting dressed. I was able to remove unsightly spots from my L.B.D. (Little Black Dress).

Happy Organizing!

One Day At A Time…

We all try to plan our days and weeks and even months and sometimes get too ahead of ourselves. If we’re not picking out an outfit for tomorrow or planning a birthday party for next weekend, we’re coordinating a girls’ night out or a fun family getaway. It’s hard to just stop and relax and let things happen. My friends at Russell + Hazel have another great tip for all those “to-do” lists lurking around every corner. Start by listing those “to-do’s” tomorrow. Before the end of your day, while at work or home, take 10 minutes to create a list of must do’s while they are still fresh in your mind. You’ll remember the most important tasks and details and be ready to hit the ground running when the sun rises the next day.

Even though we may be taking time to create meticulous and thorough lists, they may get overwhelming at times. Another handy tip from the Russell + Hazel ladies is to “Break It Down.” Don’t combine lots of complex steps into a single to-do item. Start off with several chores that can be easily accomplished. With an item like “Plan Party,” it’s hard to decide where to begin. But if you break it down into multiple steps like “send invites” or “clean living room” or “grocery run,” you can make steady progress toward your larger goal.

NEAT Things I Love Today:

These tips and pointers can be applied to more than just your “to-do” lists. We all get caught up in the busyness of life and can sometimes forget to “stop and smell the roses.” Sometimes we need to just say no and grab a “(Not) To Do” Pad by Buttoned Up. I love this one-of-a-kind notepad because it allows you to organize your tasks according to 3 categories - “To Do,” “Delegate,” and “Not To Do.” This way we can ask ourselves, “Do I really need to do that?” and then maybe…just maybe, give ourselves some extra free time to spend with our family and friends.

Happy Organizing!

Room For Improvement…

So I know everyone of us is guilty of leaving a sticky note on the kitchen counter or bathroom mirror or scrambling for a pen to write a reminder on a napkin. The problem in doing this is there’s no back up. What happens if you want to verify that a task was done? Chris and Cynthia from Russell + Hazel suggest keeping it simple and together. These brilliant ladies point out that scribbling on scraps of paper or Post-it Notes is fine—until you want to go back and check something. With a dedicated notebook or spiral pad for to-dos, you can always consult old lists and even track the date it happened.

By organizing your to-do lists, you are taking one step toward achieving what is most important in life and also gaining back some of your time. To do this, Chris and Cynthia also recommend prioritizing your items. Long to-do lists can make your workload seem insurmountable, but arranging by due date help relieve the heat. By prioritizing your to-dos by date and/or time, you can knock off the most urgent items and hold off on less pressing ones until your schedule cools.

NEAT Things I Love Today:

Whether you are a busy mom on the go or a career gal paving a path, having a planner to keep your life organized is a must. The Truly Mom Leather Planner is perfect in every way. It has multiple note pads and useful pads for all your to-do lists. This planner is smart and stylish and designed to be a portable desk to help keep you organized in the most efficient way. I especially LOVE the MY Day pad! I can start my list the night before and then in the morning as I am getting ready for work, I can add to it as I think of things. Since it is a pad, i just tear off the sheet and it can easily go anywhere I go!

Too Many “To-Dos”

Our friends, Chris and Cynthia from Russell + Hazel, are two amazing women that have brought color and style back in to the office. As my featured guests for the month, they have enlightened me with some helpful tips on how to stay organized while managing a thousand “To-Do” lists. At the end of the day, we all ask ourselves “Where did the day go?” By following their suggestions and using their wonderful products, you’ll have all the time you need for work, family, friends and fun.

With Summer rapidly approaching, this means vacation, visits from relatives, summer camp and just about anything else that involves travel. It also means having the perfect bag to keep you organized and looking great.

NEAT Things I Love Today:
Handbags are at their peak in style and color. While Channel, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci and Coach keep their signature looks fresh each season, designer Kate Spade is my favorite of the season. Talk about tasteful fun and fashion! Kate seems to have taken the award this year in all categories. Along with a great handbag, a tote is a must for office and travel. We’ve found the perfect tote to fit any style and wardrobe. The Slicker Tote from Russell + Hazel. With summer around the corner, this white and clear tote will be a staple for me.

Happy Organizing!

Make your chores more enjoyable…

Everyone dreads a sink full of dishes after a large party or family gathering. The thought of rushing to clean up after a long night of entertaining would make anyone want to wait till morning after a good night’s sleep. Even though it may seem like a good idea at the time, waiting to get to those dishes just might be a nightmare. Something that will make this chore more enjoyable is the perfect cleaning tool and the perfect cleaning outfit! The Mini Mesh Scrubber with Holder is just the tool you need to clean and scrub those dirty dishes. It is tough enough for those baked on messes but gentle enough for your sensitive cookware. And who doesn’t love a matching set? The fashionable Pink Polka Dot Gloves and Apron will protect your hands and clothing and have you looking cute at the same time!

Tip of the Day:

Before washing your dishes, scrape off food. Rinse milk, egg and starches is cold water; greasy dishes, pots and pans in warm water. Then suds up with Mrs. Meyer’s Liquid Dish Soap. Stacks of dirty dishes are unsightly, take longer to clean and quickly become smelly, so wash them right away.

NEAT Things I Love Today:

The Sponge and Ring Caddy is a girl’s best friend while at the kitchen sink. It keeps your sponges dry and clean and provides a safe and convenient place to hold your rings as you conquer the dishes. After a night of delicious food and plenty of laughs, you can keep the party going with the Gourmet Getaway Lunch Tote. It is stylish enough to take anywhere and machine washable so it will accommodate all your lunch activities. Perfect for anyone on the go.

Happy Organizing!

Spring Cleaning Made Easy…

Our friends at Mrs. Meyer’s and Caldrea have revealed some useful tips and lots of inspiration to make household chores more enjoyable. To help get you motivated and in the right direction, I will share a few of my favorites with you each day this month.

Tip of the day:

Always wash windows on a cloudy day. This is because the sun causes washed windows to dry too quickly, which can result in nasty streaking. If you are lucky and own a nice squeegee, use it along with Mrs. Meyer’s window spray to work swiftly and simply.Professional window cleaners swear by them.

Who knew?!

NEAT Things I Love Today:

Mystic Maid Cleaning Cloth! If you haven’t tried them yet, this is a tool that no household should be without! This microfiber cleaning wonder is perfect for tons of cleaning uses around the house. This marvel traps dirt, dust, grease and grime all without leaving streaks and trails of lint. The cloth is great for stainless steel appliances, glass, tile, open cook and stove tops and does wonders with granite counter tops! The best part? They are washable and re-usable, so you are doing your part to save our planet.

It’s April and time for Spring Cleaning!

According to my special guest this month, Monica Nassif, the President and Founder of Mrs. Meyers and Caldrea, the recipe for a clean and happy home is to mix one part hardworking, cleaning products with one part common sense. That is the wisdom of Thelma Meyer, a housekeeping expert from rural Iowa, who inspired the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day collection of cleaning products based on simplicity and the power of garden herbs and flowers.

The best part of a spring cleaning? The smell of a clean house and being able to do it without a lot of fuss. The trick is to find fresh and natural smelling cleaners that work hard so you don’t have to. The feeling you get after you’ve swept all the dirt and cleared all your clutter leaves you with an uplifted spirit and a happy home.

NEAT Things I love today:
The new Mrs. Meyers Basil Collection (yummy!) and the new Caldrea cleaning tools. I love them so much, that we have a special surprise coming up…so stay tuned!

Pretty In Pink Bridal Shower…

Mrs. Organized hosted a Bridal Shower last week for one of our Favorite Brides – Melinda Ahlgreen. Of course, everything was Pretty in Pink for Meli! It was probably one of the most fun showers I’ve ever hosted, because Melinda is a sweetheart and one of the most appreciative people in the world.

We began with a pink champagne punch, then moved on to a fun dinner party for fourteen and lastly, devoured a more than delicious raspberry swirl cake filled with Bavarian crème. The icing on this cake was that it was made to resemble a Tiffany box (only in pink!), and tied with a white satin ribbon…just as perfectly as the signature box.

It was definitely a night to remember and brought our team a little closer than we were yesterday. We even had fun tying the bows and ribbons on Melinda’s Bow-Quet, as she opened all beautiful gifts.

NEAT Things I Love today:
It’s all about great ice cream, cupcakes and birthday parties these days and we found some fun things for your table. Polka dots are fun and definitely make anything bright and cheerful. Start with a table cloth, add a runner and napkins to match, some cute cupcake place card holders and finish the look with over-sized paper party lanterns. Voila…a fun and re-usable party table in just minutes!
